No the 5.0 in the f150 is 360hp and 380 tq. Still less then the hemi. It's the 6.2 boss motor that will give the hemi a run for it's money but it's only in the higher end models

The eco-boost will be the direct competitor to the hemi. The 5.0 will compete against the 4.7 it looks like.

Nice review on the two trucks, but I think I'll always be in a Chevy.

I think 8 speeds is overkill honestly. It is more of a marketing gimmick than a functional item. I can hear it now:

"My truck has 2 more gears in the transmission than yours, so it must be better." (Even though it won't stay in the highest 2 on the highway with a 2mph headwind)

yea who knows, im happy with the 5 speed myself. I tried the 6 speed on the f150 and it seemed to be lost when trying to find a gear.

I felt the same way about the 6 speed in the GM pickups. I am very happy with how this 5 speed performs in my Ram.
