Keep in mind the Gen V engine & 4L80E trans are computer controlled, putting the older engine & trans is going to be a lot of work,I'm sure it's been done but I wouldn't do it.I wouldn't think it's just an easy swap.

The only thing I see a carburetored 454 is going to need to run is a switch for the fuel pump and a block off plate for where the mechanical fuel pump goes. I'll lose all my luxurys for a while but I hardly use them anyway.

As much as I miss the old carb's and TH400 tranny, there's no way I'd consider going back to them.

I've searched all the areas on craigslist that I can drive to and couldn't find a 'good' used tranny.

The only reason I want the old 454 and th400 is because I know there is perf parts for it. I can't find any decent parts for the gen v. I don't have the coin to upgrade to the gen 6.
