My 08 Silverado crew cab has Ekstensive front and rear setup. I bought this one already done and owner did a nice job on it. I am noticing the front bags are getting eaten up by the bolt on backside of spindle when turning. Anyone had this issue? I could weld on a steering stop but turning radius would suck. Mainly I am only seeing this on the drivers side. Anyone had issues on the front lower arms in regards to bag position?

I will be replacing the fronts with Slam Specialties bags to eliminate the ballooning or swelling of the bag which should give me a half inch or so of clearance. However, I just can't imaging there would be an issue with the Ekstensive kit unless the arm was flawed in some way during production.

Hit me! :wtf?:

I loaded some in my profile finally. However, to be honest I have completely forgotten how to throw them in a thread. :dunno:

Are the hub mounting bolts rubbing the bag? If that's the case you may look into getting smaller diameter bags.

A couple of pics would help.

It is the hub bolts. The bags are the Air Lift Dominator 2600 bags that the kit comes with and what Ekstensive recommends with the kit as well. I since found some information via another builder that says he is having to shave half the head of the bolt down but not so much that he cannot get a socket on it. When your running 26" wheels smaller bags are not a affordability. To lift the truck at a point of turning clearance these bags already are at 110psi. Air Lift Dominator 2600 bags have more lift in total inches than the Firestone 2600lb bags or smaller. I was going to switch them out to Slam Specialties as they do not swell on inflation. Looks like I will be doing both for safety sake. The Slam Specialties bags also have enough total lift to get the job done on turning.

Thank you for the input!

Sadly no Jim ... or at least not without re-fabricating the upper or lower mount. I figured I know Ekstensive makes the best top notch products and I am sure they have something they do to each of these trucks for this reason. Just didn't know if anyone had heard since the previous owner did the actual work and not Ekstensive.

I think I have a pretty good plan of attack now. Just means I have to get off my but and do it. New house though no garage, all my tools and equipment in storage, etc. Makes it a little difficult for any kind of "real" truck projects on the weekends.

Even my spindle / spring drop caused clearance issues with ball joints / boots / and spindle castings We has to grind off some metal. The front suspension design of these trucks doesnt offer much room to modify.
