Should be able to do it by finding a little relay taped to the wiring harness behind the brake pedal, and cutting the center yellow wire... I'll try and get pics for ya

Dennis, I re-installed the DRL relay (and they worked, just so you know). Then I plugged in the AHL sensor, lights came on (dark in garage), and I used a flashlight to shut them off. Then I stuck the resistor in (both directions) and nothing happened after 2min.

On a side note, these dashes sure are different from the 94-97. I found that I'm missing 2 screws to hold the climate controls in place.

I found a guy parting out a 98 S10 with a gray dash. I'm gonna take a look at it and see how much he wants for it.

Strange :wtf:

The AHL should be working, at the very least :dunno:

There's no polarity on the resistor...

You should just be able to put the resistor in the plug, and make sure the leads don't touch each other.

That's how it was on my Blazer, and my Sierra :dunno:

I'll tinker around with the resistor a little more. I'll even try another one (can't hurt, I've got 4 more that I have no idea what to do with ).

The DRL mod, I'm pretty sure you need to cut that wire...
The relay mod only works on high beam DRL'd S-Series units.

Removing the DRL relay turned off the low beams no problem. I didn't think to try the high beams, but I think they worked with it pulled.

I don't know. I've tried so many combinations that I can't remember them all. I'll have to go back down to my grandma's and try some more another time.

Oh, and removing the DRL relay didn't help with the resistor for the AHL.

I finally pulled the fuel pump relay because I got tired of hearing it run every time I turned the key on or off.

I'm surprised to hear the relay worked for the DRL's
Maybe that wire is for the quad beam mod :uhoh:

Went and looked at a "parts" S10. The guy said the dash was gray, but it was the black/charcoal. I saw what looked like the 0411 ECM, but I couldn't find 0411 on it (its a 2.2L). So I struck out with the closest parts vehicle I've ever had and will ever have being only 2mi away.

Just thought I'd give you guys an update. I should really make a build thread.

Parts for 2 dashes (only 1 dash it's self), a rubber bed mat, and a roll-up tonneau cover in the bed. Just shampoo-ed all the carpet and got 1 1/2 gallons of filthy black water out (and the carpet didn't even look that dirty!!). Currently there is no dash, battery, or ECM (about to get sent off for a tune) in the truck.

If you look closely in the upper right portion of the wheel, there is a big spider web. Guess I picked up a new friend.
