If I do, I will let you know.

They're kinda asking a lot for a 14yr old truck. It does only have 78k, but I don't see a mention of the 3rd door and I can't tell from the pics.

I blue-booked it last night and "Good" condition was $4600 on it.....and nothing is selling for BB value these days. They're at least $1k-1500 high.

From the pics too it looks like they are in a pretty nice part of Blaine, so maybe they won't need to get that much out of the truck. :dunno:

Just an idea....

Since Carl is real close... he could run by and take a quick look at it..
He cold then give you a better report of it's condition...Just to see if it worth "YOU" making the long drive to look at it.

From what I saw of Blaine when I got my S10 there 3yrs ago, it seems like a "new" city in that the housing is still expanding.

I thought about that Jim, but I'm still thinking on it right now.

Just sent them an email with questions. :fingersx:

Heard back from the guy.
I am the third owner. The second was my father, who had it for about 5 years and drove it about 10000 miles. I've had it less than a year. It has had yearly oil changes. No third door. Does have A/C, but I don't think it works (same as my current truck then). No significant rust, a couple tiny spots. It has mostly been parked outdoors. As far as I know it has no pressing mechanical needs, it has been running well for me.

Probably gonna pass on this one. I really like the 3rd door, especially since on the S10's its on the driver's side and is very useful (the K1500's have them on the passenger side as well as the 3-door GMT800's).

Oh well. I wasn't too excited about this one anyways. Only thing it had going for it was the mileage....not the price.

Found another one

I'm hoping to look at this one on Monday. :fingerx:

'98 S10 ZR2 5spd; 137k, no 3rd door, 2 jump seats in back, dents below gas door, tailgate is light blue, has 5th wheel hitch bars but no hitch (I'm gonna remove that), driver's door has been replaced with one that had a rub strip so there are holes and tape (I'd weld them up or bondo them), the driver's headlight isn't aligned properly (this is common when someone puts the lens in wrong; just have to reinstall it)

I'd try to fix the dents, fix the small rust spots, repaint the tailgate, redo the trailer harness wiring (not done well at all), and hopefully try some roll-on bed liner from Dupli-Color. If I get it, I'm debating whether or not to just replace the whole bed or not and save some headaches, but it depends how the rest of it looks.

I've got pics of the truck from the seller.

Seems like a good project. :lurk:
I don't want it to be too much of a project. I'd love to get the bed all taken care of this summer, but that's being hopeful. Hopefully the clutch will last for at least a year or two. I just don't want to change one in the middle of January again. Been there, done that, and its no fun.

So far a mod list would include HIDs (I already have them) and a BlackBear mail-order tune. Later, I hope for CAI and exhaust with hopes of improved gas mileage more than anything....that and I can't stand a totally quiet truck!

What's all that flaky orange crap all over it? :jester:

I honestly think I'd pass unless it was a REALLY good deal. 5th wheel rails in a mid-size probably indicate it has been overworked for some portion of it's life, and it doesn't look like it has been taken the best care of.
