I was following an Iroc Camero yesterday and smelled something burning, so obviously I giggled to myself thinking it was the Iroc burning up his clutch. Turns out it was my Mark VIII fan literally melting. Smoke was coming out of my grill...never blew the 80 amp fuse. Luckily I was in town and it was a Saturday, so I stopped at the junk yard and got a new one for $30. The fan I got yesterday looks brand new too, must have had cooling problems before it was scrapped and they put a new fan on it.

Pics to come later

That is odd that it never blew the fuse. I would check and make sure all is well. That doesn't sound right. The fuse should have gone. Glad you got another one so quick and at a good price.

My MIL had a Mark VIII and I enjoyed driving it. :)

Wright up would be cool. Good thing you could get another one so fast.

New fan on the left old one on the right, the new one looks to not be OEM because of the different blade shape, but maybe it is just a different year

Shaft of the motor got so hot it melted the hole in the blade

Not good. The new one looks like it will work just fine though.

I'd be concerned at why that fuse didn't blow!

Awesome that you were able to quickly grab new parts the same day!
