Yeah Jim I remember you saying that a while back in one of my older threads. I think that is the only way to go they are close to double the price but I'm sure I won't be replacing them anytime soon. I'm kicking my self for not getting there basic kit around Christmas it was $150 for the drill 2 batteries, charger, flashlight and sawzall

Bump this back up

I recently found the battery for it

Now I need to find a charger. I don't know if it's even worth it. I can get a Ryobi kit for $79.99 for the old Ni-MH batteries or get a Li-Ion one for $159.99 :dunno:

If you buy, make sure it has LITHIUM batteries. My Ryobi has Lithium rechargeables and the batteries keep their charge for months. I've owned this drill well over a year and I've only charged it 3 or 4 times.

It's powerful and always ready.

:werd:

My new Milwaukee is the same way.

Good 'cause the beer with that on it fucking sucks.

On topic though yes buying a replacement battery is never the best option. And lithium is definitely the way to go.

As for me I like my stuff wired and corded. Never cared for wireless and cordless shit. I know they are useful but I just prefer corded tools. I am weird like that I guess.

Just my opinion, but Ryobi tools are not very good quality. I bought a hammer drill to use drilling concrete around our pool, and I literally burnt it out in 2 hours use. The Dewalt replacement I got has worked with no issues.. And the Ryobi set my dad has has gone downhill fast since he got it about 3 months ago with just normal around the house use.

Yeah I hardly ever use one though. I use my roommate's very rarely. I want to use one for my wheels on my truck & the occasional handy man job around the house

I got an 18v Black and Decker for christmas. It does everything you have mentioned and it is decent quality for cheap.
