As most of you know I am running a Flowmaster exhaust setup on Fred. I'm not completely sold on the sound though. I've heard some Magnaflow setups on other types of trucks that sounded good. Anybody have a sound clip from a GMT900 with a Magnaflow muffler?

I've listened to some on Youtube, but I'd rather hear it from a reliable source.

What kind of sound are you looking for?

You can get a GMPP touring or sport muffler and should be a direct swap of the stock one. GMPP mufflers are made by Borla and are a straight through design. The touring muffler is more of a quiet muffler that is quiet when cruizing and has a nice rumble when you get on it. The sport has more of a rumble at idle and more of a sporty or load rumble when you get on it. I know for sure the touring one had no drone at all.

Thanks Joe. Sounds good... but not all that much different than my Flowmaster setup. I'm trying to determine if it would be worth the $$$ to swap mine.

JD. I guess I want a little more rumble on the throttle without adding too much drone in the cab. I don't hate my current setup but I think it could sound better. I need to post a clip of mine.

Honestly I've been thinking of getting something less aggressive in the sound department myself. The wife says I can't hear well and the Flow ain't helping :dunno:

What flow master do you currently have?

I'm a huge magnaflow fan. You need to try find one to hear in person. There is quite a bit of difference in flowmaster and magnaflow.

Go to a muffler shop. Surely they will have a vehicle that either has one on it, or are currently putting it on. I'm sure they would be glad to let you listen if they think it will help them sell you stuff.

I really like my Magnaflow muffler. I don't have a sound clip but I might be able to see what I can get.

I think mine sounds excellent as well but I think Jim may want a hair more sound, something similar to yours.

Jim, My 900 with the 12579 sounds almost exactly the same as my 800. I don't have any good audio capture stuff here (all in storage) or I'd grab a clip for you. I tried with my iPhone the other day but I'm sure you can imagine how well that sounded.
