I really liked the Frontier I had, it ran like a scalded cat! The only issues are it is near the end of it's production run, and the 4.0 v6 has some timing chain tensioner issues. It's not like you would put enough miles on it to ever have that, though!
Being near the end of a production run is actually a good thing. Throughout the build of a particular model, the manufacturer fixed the issues that crop up. In theory - by the end of the model run - the best versions of that particular vehicle are produced.

Most any vehicle would be good for us. We rarely ever put 40 - 50K on one. Most have their major issues over 100K

I think you should consider waiting until the prius truck comes out!

Not if you maintain and take care of your vehicle.

I have rarely worked on Toyotas. IIRC the majority of the work I have done is maintenance. The only vehicle that I seen with tons of problems is the Matrix or Vibe, or whatever the cross that was with Pontiac. Had transmission problems.

They are nice trucks, just the price scares me away. I'm sure you'll score one at a good price.

this.....

Well.

The Tacoma was a no go. Nowhere near the power I'm used to out of that six and holy crap do they want a Brinks truck full of money for that little thing! Much less power than I had hoped. It's a nice little rig... but I don't think it's for me. Frontier is pretty powerful but not terribly comfortable... I've driven a bunch of them since the 05 intro. Local Nissan store has them for $6500 off of sticker so the price is not bad.

Too bad the big three don't make a modern mid sized truck. :fume:

Maybe I need to wait for the next generation GMC?

I bet you would have loved it of your DD was a Colorado/Canyon or Ranger...

A Nissan Frontier Nismo I would think would be perfect!

The Nissan is a nice truck. I'm not so sure it's a step up from where I am now though.
