I finally got my Dynatech SuperMAXX headers, cats and Y pipe installed Monday night. Install took a whopping 12 hours, I only took a couple of small breaks and I was the lone ranger doing it. I ordered the headers and Y pipe with cats from Jegs.com. Fast shipping from them, I love doing business with those folks.
So the headers came in and I had my buddies scarf off an air injection pipe that wasn't needed for my truck. They did an amazing job and wouldn't take any money for doing it either. After the pipe was gone I sent the headers to Jet-Hot for coating, it cost $350 for a set of headers to get coated. They will give you a quote when you request it, but that will give you some idea of what they cost. I went with their Sterling Silver finish, it's ceramic coating but it looks awesome.
New studs and nuts were ordered for mounting the headers. Thanks to Dan (DV2000NJ) for giving me the part numbers on those. I also ordered 4 new O2 sensors, thanks Rich (MS3Dale) for the help with those part numbers. All of those parts were ordered from GMPartsdirect.com.
All in all I'm very happy with the system but I will caution you, this was not a cheap mod. I have a little over $2500 in the system. So here are a few pics for your enjoyment.
Stock manifolds:
New uncoated Headers:
Cats and Y pipes:
New gaskets and hardware.
Manifolds removed head cleaned and studs installed. I was impressed with how little carbon build up there was in the engine. Nice and clean for 100K miles.
Jet-Hot coated headers:
Installed:
I can tell you there isn't a lot of room in there so be prepared to take your time. The system fit great and there was no extra trimming or beating to make them fit. They sound bad ass too sorry I don't have video but will see what my little camera can do later.
