Has anyone ever trouble shot the throttle position sensor on a 08 chevy duramax? Mine is acting up and reads 49.9% at 0% and 52.3% at 100%. I have scanned it with my PPE scanner, EFI Live and one of the local shops scanners. All register the same. I purchased a new gas pedal, which holds the tsp and it still registers the same. :dunno:

I have also had my ECM reflashed by the dealer back to stock, and the problem continues. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreceated.

Is there a test procedure for the sensor itself? A sure fire way to see if it's working or not with a volt/ohm meter?

My 06 has a TAC (Throttle actuation control) Module or something like that, it is up on the firewall by the brake booster. The pedal harness plugs into it, does your 08 have anything like that? If you have changed the pedal assembly and are still having the problem that might be a place to look next.

The dealerships refuse to trouble shoot my truck, which I almost take as a compliment. "to modified". I did manage to squeeze the wiring diagram out of them. It is actually two sensors, just redundant. 5V power and a potentiometer, the two pots do both move; however I don't have any reference points to what they should be.

And I'll check into wether I have a TAC or not, if I do it seems like the logical progression.

check resistance from the pedal to the ECM. could be out of wack, maybe a bad ground? very common issue. (bad grounds causing issues)

Man... unfortunately I am just not much help on a Duramax. Maybe somebody with a little bit of diesel experience can chime in here.

I got some printoffs from chevy today. At first they said no, but them when I reminded them that they refused service on the truck and I was now stuck they smartened up.
