WHAT A LIFE RIGHT.....
so last saturday i took my differential apart and took the carrier out and put both axles back in to check if it had limited slip, my dad held one side with the back end of a hammer and i tried moving the other axle with a big wrench and it moved fairly easy
so we assumed it didnt have limited slip, and larry (one of the guys off the forum) gave me his old 3.73 gears and carrier and my dad wants to check if it had limited slip or not, so we put both axles in and did the same thing but this time it was a little harder to move but it still moved
so my dad assumed both did not have limited slip on them so we put the old ones back in ( after we argued for an hour to just put the 3.73 ones in )
after hours of talking with larry, Che, and Leo we found out that my gears and the 3.73 both have limited slip on them but mine has 75k miles on them and the 3.73 have like 10-15k on them
so my question is
how does the limited slip work on my truck, while im driving or off roading does it slip a little then lock up or what?
and che and larry told me the clutches in our carriers usually go bad at 50k miles, has anyone heard of something like that?
