Wellllll, this is frustrating and embarrassing.

I saw the address, saw a Q in the name, and went to La Quinta, because I've stayed there a few times before. The reservation was actually with Quality Inn, not La Quinta.

And since it was pre-paid and I was a no-show, I paid for a fWONking room that I'm sure they eventually rented out to someone else. So, they got paid TWICE for that fWONking room!

Ever since I booked the room, I had La Quinta stuck in my head. So, I didn't re-read things thoroughly enough..

I was very distinctly reminded why I usually take my road trips to lesser-populated areas!

The wife and kids want to go to either the Outer Banks, or Hilton Head for the 4th of July. I told them I'd rather put a bullet in my head.

I wouldn't even THINK of going there on a holiday like that...

I missed this when you first posted it, Jeff.

The wife and kids want to go to either the Outer Banks, or Hilton Head for the 4th of July. I told them I'd rather put a bullet in my head.

After the hour I spent in the French Quarter on Friday, I'm not sure if I will ever go back to New Orleans. I can not IMAGINE being there during or even close to Mardi Gras!

When I left Lufkin yesterday, I "thought" about going to Galveston. And then I remembered all the people in New Orleans. "Galveston is a big tourist area too. Screw that! Go home, go get your dog, and just chill out for a couple of days!"

I guess something in my subconscious REALLY wanted me back home. :faepalm:

I had La Quinta stuck in my head. So, even when I was standing in the lobby of LQ looking at the stinkin' email, I didn't read "Quality Inn."

The guy behind the counter was so stuck on being right (I guess we both were) that he never looked at the phone. So, he didn't see it either.

Oh well! At least I'm home!
