Any of you guys ever actually done ant oval track racing? I've been around a few quarter mile and half mile paved tracks through the years and the old "go fast turn left" bit may sound funny to those who haven't been there but it's a total frikking blast and hard as hell to do when you are actually trying to hotlap a track. Compound the difficulty about a million times when there are 25 other vehicles doing the same thing.

It's a bitch and fun all at the same time.

I took my old RCSB Sierra around the Terre Haute dirt track a few times. That was fun!

I've never been around a dirt track but I can imagine how much fun it is.

Lapping an asphalt track is nothing like you would "imagine" if you have not done it. It'll make a believer out of anybody who says oval track in not real racing... and I don't think I ever went over about 120 on one. I can only guess how intense it is at 200. WOW!

Back in the "OLD DAYS"... I did a little dirt track stuff.

A couple of years ago, Darkanion and I took our cars out to Texas Motor Speedway.
They let us run 3 laps on the big track...
But behind a pace car. :(
I never could get over about 110 without having to hit the brakes to keep from running over the pace car.

:rollin:

But it was still a lot of fun.
I have a pic somewhere of the Caddy sitting in the winners circle.
