So I was talking to some buddies at work and we were talking about what car we would have if we wanted a car during the week (driving to & from work) and have a truck on the weekend.

I pay the truck off in May. I'm in no way thinking about getting another monthly payment but maybe 2 years from now getting a car to drive during the week and have my truck to play around with on the weekends.

What car would you drive?

Here's what I would look for

  • Comfort (I'm 6'5")
  • Sporty (But Not a sports car)
  • Gas Mileage
  • Decent Cargo Space
  • Looking for 10-12k

I'm not interested in a Mustang or Camaro. I like the cars but not for driving on road trips or on day to day drive. They aren't comfortable for me at all either. Definitely not looking for a Honda Civic or accord either (not comfortable for me, leg/head room)

This is an open discussion not just for me. So what would you suggest/drive?

Don't get a Ford Focus. I'm 6'4" and the one I bought last month to DD has nowhere near enough leg room.

Don't count out a nice wagon. Audi, VW, Subaru, and a few others have some nice rides. I'm strongly considering trying to convince my wife she needs a sporty little wagon next time. All the space of an SUV with the MPG of a car.

Sent quietly from this sorority girl's closet. Keep it down.

I would never buy one, but much to my surprise the Nissan Versa had lots of headroom and ample legroom for my 6 foot 300lb self. Yet I was cramped as hell in a Nissan Frontier.

Dodge Charger would be my choice. You could pick up a decent used one for the price range you are looking at. They are large, relatively fast, rwd, and have an available v8. Even the v6 in the 11+ models is pretty quick and gets good gas mileage.

Well I know you don't think the Accord's are comfy, but I'm 6'2" and I will say my 09' accord sedan has way more than enough room. They have really opened the cars up. I love my car, yeah I miss having a truck, but you can't go wrong with a Honda. I picked my 09' up with 40K on it and payed 12,500.00 for it. Yeah I got a good deal from a young guy that opened a dealership up. He is no longer in business either.
