The scariest trend in Nascar to me at the moment is the empty seats I see week after week at these races. Okay some can argue that the economy is playing a part in this, but it hasn't managed to bother the NFL, or college football.

Yeah, I've been noticing that, too.. Even at some of their so-called "best" tracks, I've noticed the camera angles try to avoid the stands, so you don't see the empty seats..

Speaking of sponsors..

What's up with M&M's? "We don't want to be on the car for the rest of this year, but we'll return to the #18 and Kyle Busch next year"..?? :wtf?:

Are they going to make him complete some anger management classes in the off season and if they're not happy with the results, maybe they won't really return..? It seems odd that they've already "committed" to KB and JGR for next season, but they don't want to be on the car for the rest of this season..

I've noticed the fancy camera work too. They make sure to show only the populated parts of the stands when they do show em. I have friends and family that still attend several races a year and they all have said attendance is down big time.

I know Phoenix isn't one of their most popular tracks. But, I was surprised to see ads a few days ago saying tickets were still available...

Maybe they're more focused on sticking with the car for next season more so then the driver. Gibbs may be considering letting KB go after the season. He's a lot to deal with week after week and eventually regardless of talent a team has to make the best move. Letting Kyle go may be JGR's best bet.

It is an odd stance though, but there has to be more to it.

That's what I've been thinking. Something just doesn't add up.. I guess we'll find out in the off season. :dunno:

It was the same with the Atlanta race. They were advertising some super deals for entire weekend packages. Same thing for Dega as well. Dega had packages for as low as $50 a person.

Yeah, I seem to remember seeing some packages for Texas, too.. But, I figured I'd see more on TV than I would at the track..

That's true...
The last time we went to Texas Motor Speedway... we were in the Crown Royal Suite.
The suites and skyboxes are too high up and too far away from the track to see good.
We mostly watched it on TV while we were waited on hand and foot with all kinds of free food and drinks.

The time before that, we were on the FRONT ROW....right by the finish line.
The track is lower than the seats...and when they come out of turn 4 and head down the front stretch.. all you can see is the TOPS of the cars....those seats sucked...
We finally moved up to about row 10... and that was a little better.
Better yet was moving closer to turn one... about row 5.
Then you could see the whole track...
