The Weiand intake is not bad, but I would I am not as big of fan of the Holley carb for a dependable daily driver.

You really cannot beat the Carter or Edelbrock Carbs for a good combo of dependability, drivability, and performance. If we are talking all out performance, then the 4150HP style holleys are hard to beat.

If it were me, I would without a doubt go with one of the edelbrock kits. Edelbrock is great at putting good combos together that work without guessing.

I say go with the weiand if you dont plan on a cam swap. My brother has the performer rpm package on his mustang but he doesnt like the carb so he is getting a demon carb.

Thinking about selling my kicker 12" with the box and getting 2 shallow mount subs in a box behind the seat. Looking at the shallow mount CVR's. Do any of you have experience with shallow mount subs? How do they compare sound wise to the regular mount subs? I know as far as the bottom end they'll loose some sound but I'm really not wanting to have a big ol 12 in my floorboard again.

Weind is good.. i have 2 weind intakes .. i run on my SB Chevys.. If you just want a daily driver carb.. Get a edelbrock... Easy to tune .. and they usually stay tune'd... If Your going for perfermance i would get a holly.. They usually run better but drink the fuel lol..I always ran a edelbrock on my chevelle and 1ton ... But my races trucks always have a holly

I'll be going with a edelbrock carb and probably an edelbrock intake manifold, The last thing I need is my truck to drink more gas :uhoh:

I've been happy with my single 10" shallow Kenwood (wish it was a 12", but can't fit it). I had a pair of 12" in the backseat for a little bit and man was it a difference.

The shallow is better than nothing. Yeah, you loose a little, but if you tune it right to get the right tone, they aren't all that bad.

I mean, I'm willing to sacrifice sound for practicality. My 12 sounded ridiculous in my truck, course it was right in front of my face but I would guess that I could 2 shallow 12's to sound like 1 full size. Heck I'd even go far enough to get 3 12's.
