I know the CVT does increase fuel economy. I'm not completely sold on the technology when so many companies can't build a decent auto trans.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the tech. We'll see how I feel about it when I'm closer to the end of the powertrain warranty vs. now.

So far, thought, I'm seeing about 29-30 mpg going back & forth to work and I haven't exactly been babying it. So, I'm glad to see that.

From what I have read, Honda makes the least trouble free CVT.

I don't think I'd want the least trouble free CVT... :jester:

Why is the word acts in quotes? Just curious.

Well, it's not shift gears, it's changing ratios with the pulleys or however-the-hell it works internally.

yes, I understand that, but the word 'acts' suffices just fine. No need for quotes.

Just sayin' ;)

I like the "quotes"... in that particular instance.
By emphasizing the work "acts" ...I took it to mean that the car seems to doing one thing when in actuality, it is really doing something else.

You can like it all you want, that doesn't make it proper usage.

You never use quotation marks for emphasis. You use them for quoting, hence their name.
