That CVT seems like it would take some getting used to.

Yeah, it'll take a little adjusting, but not too much.

All the CVTs I had driven before this one were slow to wind-up. This one "acts" more like a regular transmission and changes the ratios quickly to get the RPM up when you press the go pedal. From that point, it's just a steady, smooth power delivery.

And no passing gear. I would miss that.

I think you misunderstood what I said.

It "downshifts" to get the RPM up, but then it just stays in the higher RPM range (where it's producing more power), rather than having to "wind-up, shift, wind-up some again, shift again," etc..

Other CVTs I have driven were't that way. Basically, you got on the gas and it took several seconds for it to gradually wind up and then it just stayed there.. This one "acts" like it dowshifts fairly quickly to get the RPM up quicker and then it stays in its powerband..

Why is the word acts in quotes? Just curious.

So it does act like a passing gear when you floor it at highway speed.....:dunno:

yes, I understand that, but the word 'acts' suffices just fine. No need for quotes.

Just sayin' ;)

Knowing how people are on the internet, no matter how I said it, someone would "nit-pick" it.

Just sayin'. :jester:
