There is some major part on Wranglers made of pure gold. I haven't been able to see that part yet but it must be there somewhere. It must.

I actually like the Wrangler, but it's really expensive. BTW the older inline-6 engines always pleased me more than any V6.

I have built both rangers and jeeps...lets just say my semi stock 81 toyota trekker went more places then the wrangler... with 35's and lockers..
I have had 4 jeeps...and HAD is the key word. Quickly get that out of your system. If you want a jeep to Toy around with get an older wrangler...4.0 I6 is the only jeep engine i would drive...everything else is strait crap.. There is a reason why that motor was in every jeep for two decades.
BUT...i have had every ounce of a jeep taken apart..and i have not found any gold lined X-case, trans, engine, axel housing... I am pretty sure the prices are high cause all those Yuppies!

It's close to being out of my system after checking prices. :D

If I'm going to spend $35k, it sure as hell isn't going to be on a Wrangler.

I liked the 04 Rubicon the best as they were alright all around. I have a 89 YJ islander that I lifted and it us my play toy and really like it but don't like it enough to spend $36,000 on one, they ain't that much fun. I really don't get how they justify that price for what it really is I guess I haven't paid much attention to the new interiors because I don't see where they can expect that much cost for the jeep...

Because it says "Jeep" on it :dunno:

Jeep is slowly turning into a pile of mall crawling failures of the name. :uhoh:

The Pentastar should be a pretty good fit for the Wrangler. Unlike the 3.8 and 4.0 it produces horsepower, has a torque band that doesn't crap out at high revs, and doesn't take 5 minutes to rev. Granted it's not as simple as them and not proven since it's only been out about a year but surely it's reliability will beat the 3.8 that likes to start puffing smoke at less than 100k.
