Before I dump a bunch of money on converting my old Dodge D200 to an over drive 518 I wanted to compare the pricing pros to just rebuilding my 727. I have priced several stock rebuild kits but I would like to know what all is out there to beef it up. The reason mine is shut down is because I lost reverse. When I dropped the pan big metal chunks fells out. I have read this is a common problem. How do I prevent it from happening again? What kind of upgrades should I look into? This is in a ¾ ton truck that although is babied does get used as a ¾ ton truck. I do pull trailers and I do haul hay and other stuff. So I want a transmission that can handle being worked. What kind of torque converter should I look for? What kind of shift kit do I need? Stuff like this is what I would like to learn about before jumping into a conversion that might not be the best way to go for this truck.
