I am looking for an inch pound torque wrench. When fixing vehicles, I have come across having to use one(more than I can count),on a specific bolt needs to be tightened in inch pounds. I have been able to get away with it most of the time because it was tightening non-critical parts. There are times, this tool is required on critical parts. Again, I've been able to get away with snugging them tight.

I don't want some cheap Chinese junk that was calibrated with crushing a grain of rice. I also don't want to spend a fortune on one either. Does anyone here have one they trust, that they recommend? Or one someone knows of that they can recommend?

The only one I sort of trust, because I have ft.lb. Craftsman is, This One.

The onle problem is that it only goes down to 25 in.lb. I've had specs call for lower, down to 15in.lb.

None so far, I was skeptical but it has done fine for me. If It was something I used on a regular basis, I would probably have purchased a Snap-On. But for occasional use it has been reliable.

I have a 0-25 Matco dial for the really intricate stuff. Doing load plates on injectors I was commonly over torquing with a clicker. I have 2 of the snap on clickers, one has a 3/8 head for doing valve train. I like the snap on torque wrenches. I have many up through 3/4.

I started off with craftsman and KD many moons ago, they are out if calibration quickly when you are abusing them daily. For the house they should be fine

I have a Craftsman lbft wrench and no issues. The one :jrod: posted on Ebay will work well. We used them in the Air Force. I also send my wrenches out to Team Torque. The price seems fair. I don't have a local source to calibrate when needed. Remember if you drop a torque wrench it needs to be checked for calibration.

Team Torque is good people. We used them until we bought 2 snap on torque wrench benches. So sweet, now we just pay freight to Portland

I'll keep the Team torque company in mind.

Those Matco wrenches are really nice, just out of my price range. I'll probably go with the Craftsman. Given the price, with the amount of time I'll use it, I think it should work out fine.
