Depending on cost, you might as well replace everything while you're in there...

See if you can track down a Hurst or B&M Short throw shifter... Best thing you could ever do for the NV3500! The shifter doesn't bother me that much. Makes a nice place to rest your hand too when you're messing with the radio/HVAC. Try putting a tall cup in the bottom cup holder in 4th gear... And the short shifter still leaves a resting place for radio stuff.

If I would've had a few days, I'd have pulled mine... I know I could've made money on it, since they stopped making them before I got mine...
Nice parts list.

I'm searching, and guys are talking about replacing seals (some mentioned are the engine rear-main seal, and trans/t-case seals). Should I even try messing with the engine rear-main seal? I really don't want to fWONk something up.

If you have it out, you might as well do preventative maintenance...

I never got around to doing mine...

Why buy new when you can restore?

Is anyone still making one?

Yeah, I'm going to try to replace everything I can while the trans is out (really don't want to take it out again until I have to rebuild the engine or another 100k mi), but should I mess with the engine seals at this time?

On the idle issue, the truck seems to be doing better, but still occasionally will hold a high RPM. I'm just hoping that the ECM/PCM is learning the right way again.
