What does it take to get the legendary ;) black bear tune? i have a 2003 silverado Z71, w/120K miles. magnaflow exhuast, volant intake, and this weekend i'll be adding LT headers and free flowing Y-Pipe. If you (Jenna) could please provide all info necessary I'd appreciate it. This is going to the top of the X-Mas list.

Traditional tune ( mail order tune) $200, answer some questions and they send you a tuned PCM. You swap it out and send them the core back.

Data Logging Tune $300, they will send out a scan cable to you. Connect one end to a laptop the other connects to your OBDII port. You go out and do some driving, email them the log and they send you a tuned PCM for swap out.

One thing to be aware of Josh. Black Bear Performance stays very busy so if you email them it may take a couple of days for a reply. Don't get disgruntled and think they have blown you off, they will always get back with you. Justin is in huge demand for a reason, he is one of the best tuners out there for our GM vehicles.

Enough of us have had a tune so if you want to ask questions ahead of time just ask us, we will be more than happy to help you out.

They have several options that you can sift through, I'm leaning towards the new autocal which essentially is a blackbear custom tune on a handheld device so you can swap between a few different tunes as needed. Justin is busy but honestly has a better response time and better customer service than any of the other tuners out there. That is the whole reason I'm going with blackbear this time instead of my previous tuner. To date Justin has not made a dime off of me and he still replies to any questions I ask in a very timely manner. I will soon contribute to the new baby's college fund.
