Yamaha 4 stroke baby!
:uhoh:

I have only had one Yamaha..150hp Pro-V...2stroke.... It was a running MOsheen...... So i dont guess i can hate on it

I dont know if i could ever get rid of a 2 stroke though.... Them 4 strokes seem smooth and quite though... Then again i love the sound of the smoker

I had a Merc on the last boat. It never gave me a second's worth of problems. I'd consider a Merc or a Yamaha, but I'm definitely going for a fuel injected four stroke this time. They start and run like a car in any weather!

Bruce, that thing Is damn cool! Does it sit fairly low in the water? Looks like it would be fast with that hull design.

Sits pretty low, its a deepvee, so its not real fast (49 mph top speed) Does real well in big water for a 17.5 ft boat. I fish Green Bay alot, wich can get pretty choppy.

I had a 17 ft. Sylvan(alum hull) with a 70 Yamaha, nice boat, but if the wind came up i would get the crap beat out of me.

I know the alum. boats are much lighter than fiberglass, but if im gonna be out in big water i will stay with the fiberglass hull.

TX, where else should I be?
I'll sell ya my old boat for $200, here is a pic of it a few weeks ago and even took it out late last night with a friend so I know it still floats.

Fishing gear not included. :loser:

Here is what I got yesterday...

Except I only paid $410 for it. I dont have any pictures yet. It is a sit on top, should be good for the fishing I do once I put on an anchor cleat and some other tie down anchors.

If I were you I'd be looking for those older boats. They are easy to take apart and put back together. Here is the '70s boat my dad rebuilt, taken at Canyon Lake. You can tell it is old because it is bright yellow with brown seats.
