Those old Rovers and MGs are cool, but hardly something I would put up against a modern vehicle reliability wise.

Exactly...
My 2006 Chevy 1500 has right at 100,000 miles...and it has "NEVER" been in the shop for "ANYTHING"....
It has never had a wrench on it.. except for changing the oil.
It is dead on reliable...turn the key .. it starts.
Put it in gear .. it goes.

No one can ask for better than that..

Kris, ignore them. Buy a Suburban, you will be very happy with it. They are very reliable

I agree. A Suburban is also a lot more flexible than the van since you can get 4wd. In addition, with all the emmisions crap on the newer diesels, the cost has sky rocketed and the fuel mileage has plummeted. The days of spending a little more up front then making it up over the life of the vehicle in extra mpg's with the diesel are gone. Diesel also used to be cheaper at the pumps, now it is $.50+ higher than regular gas.

Mark found one that was the diesel, but it had over 100k on it and the interior was disgusting. And it didn't have any type of warranty on it. So we passed. I think we are going to go look around this week or so. There a just some really small dealerships on island so it's about 40 miles to the "good" ones.

And ya'll just jinxed me. My Disco just ate the oil pump!!! :uhoh:
