What torque settings do you use on your lugs?

I've always run 60 - 80 ft lbs on mine and never had any issues. Never had a loose lug or any problems getting any off... My neighbor runs his down to about 125 ft lbs and has had to replace several lugs and studs when he rotates tires on his Titan. I say that's too damn tight but he spouts the "specs" and keeps breaking shit.

I think torque specs call for over 100. That seems like way too much to me.

Somewhere between "good and tight" and "as tight as you can turn the wrench" :dunno:

But as an engineer, I would like to think tightening to spec wouldn't break stuff.

They don't break when he tightens tham. They break the stud when he's removing them. I'm quite sure it is user inflicted damage.
