I pulled this dash out of a parts car because it was pretty close to perfect. Mine is shredded from the sun. During the removal this happened. I did not realize it was so brittle. I know if I let this go it will look like the dash I am replacing in no time. What can I do to not only stop it from getting worse, but also cover up the damage already done?

Has this been resolved?

Anyway, i've read that Eastwood has an available repair kit that can repair small cracks. however, there's a big possibility that the vinyl will crack elsewhere fairly soon. The only real cure is to replace the entire dash, which is neither simple nor cheap. you may check out fabric dash covers or glue on some shag carpeting. you may also read how plastic weld epoxy can be used, but you'll have to remove the vinyl coating.

cover it in new vinyl!

Patience, heat, and glue can do amazing things.

The ironic thing is this is this is the replacement dash pad. It came from a donor car.

You can check out some stuff here. have They have repair stuff to do dash pads. They have some off the wall shit I never seen, like nitrogen welders and stuff. I stumbled upon them a few months ago when I was looking into plastic welders.

If you proceed with it, please do a write up. I'd love to see how it turns out.

I plan to do a full build on this car when I am done with training. The interior is where I'm putting most of the work into.
