Thanks Travis. Yes many of us use Tapa Talk on here to post and moderate. I have had to uninstall my app before for various reasons like that. But those times it wouldn't let me get on any forum at all. Not sure what's wrong though.

Everything I have dug up says the Advent is all about integration and OEM looks but doesn't sound very good. I'm not paying a grand for something pretty that sucks. I did get to actually see and touch one here in town.

They do look nice, but I think I'll be sticking with something more oriented toward sound quality instead of fashion.

Just fWONking with ya. The guys that sell it here said that it was perfect for "those wanting a fashionable replacement for the factory deck" but that there were much better options when it came to sound quality. That does trouble me.

Emily was just saying "DO IT" before that.

It looks fantastic and safe. That's too bad about the sound because they have everything else going for them.

You guys are looking at headunits that cost as much as my entire system!!!

I'm a Kenwood fan (their Excelon line). That Advent looks nice, but if you're paying that kind of moneyz, you'd better be getting better sound quality!

On a side note, I'm not a huge fan of all the chimes going through the radio. In my mom's '10 G6, I figured it out pretty quick. Seems easier to me just to have the little box with a tiny speaker in it like my truck has. Now you gotta mess with stuffing even more adapters behind the radio.

I do wish the new GM radios would fit in my truck though. I like the layout of them and especially since they finally integrated a USB and AUX jack on the front of them. Menu navigation is easy too.

I agree with your thoughts.

Mine becomes an instant target for people I want to kill.

I can't go through it again, it has to be incognito.
Amps and good speaks do make a great difference in the sound, luckily.

Well Scott... In the interest of full disclosure I have not heard the Advent myself. The guy at the audio shop said that they have one in a Suburban that I can hear but it was not there. I plan to give it a listen.
