Possible but I am tweaked by swapping in a DVD unit and getting better sound! The more I read up on this stuff, the more I want it!

Does it come in gloss black, flat black, semi-gloss black or inside a whale's vagina black? If so, you may have a little harder time picking.

That one I posted with the detachable face seems nice because very few offer that sort of protection. Pioneers UI is one of the best. That's not to say it's great, just better than most.
Alpine has some pretty nice units as well now that you are willing to spend more cheese.

FYI: Alpine has a few new double din units that they showed off at the CES show. They arent due to be released until August though.

The advent piece for the 2008-2012 GM is $1050. Its available for local pickup for me and has a 3yr warranty. No need for dash mounting kits, adapters, modules or anything. That's a savings of a couple hundred in itself. Last year I installed a Rosen Entertainment unit very similar into a customer's Tahoe. It maintained the factory overhead, OnStar, XM, steering controls and all.
Was it as cool as a Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer, Sony, BBC (which I carry all)? No. But it looks factory and no chance of it getting yanked from the dash and it integrates perfectly.
