One more question comes to mind as I get close to ordering these HID's. Should I get 3000k fogs or stick with the same color as I do in my lows (probably 5000k)? I hear the yellow is better for cutting fog. Any opinions?

Thought it was interesting and was ready to do it until I saw the price of those TSX projectors...:frustration:

FX35 projectors are cheap and bixenon

Unless you re-wire your truck so you can use your fog lights without your headlights on, it's pointless trying to use them as actual fog lights...

Hmm... maybe I will reconsider this rout then... it would be a different shape bulb if I went this route, correct? i.e It would no longer be a 9006 bulb?

If I do this I'm going to rewire the lows to stay on with the highs AND I am going to put the light sensor on a switched loop with a resistor so that I can turn the auto headlight feature on and off at my leisure. This would allow me to to run just fogs with parking lights if I wanted to. With that in mind, would you recommend them or no?

Please read responses in red.:)

Yes, you'd have a D2S bulb.

Chances are if you do the resistor mod, you'll lose your auto headlights, unless you wire up a switch to bypass the resistor.

With just the fogs, then it would be practical...
I recommend getting projector fog lights

This is my plan for that. The blue square is the sensor. The red lines are the existing wires. The black box is a SPDT(single pole, double throw) switch that has ON/ON positions. Not to be confused with on that has ON/OFF/ON capabilities. Lastly, the green line is an added wire with the 1k Ohm 1/2watt resistor.

Should work in theory right?:)

In theory

You're better off with the AHL's off with HID's in your headlights anyway... They don't always like being flicked on and off a lot, lol
