It seems they really target the taste of the new riders.
New riders? I only see older people riding Harleys
We are the only ones who can afford them.
Kind of like Corvettes.
BMW dealers didn't have the snooty attitude the f'rs at the Chevy dealers did about test driving new Vettes.
It's not just about the price tag. At least where I live, younger folks have been more mindset toward 4-cyl motorcycles. I actually prefer parallel-twins, since they tend to have a better cooling than Harleys.
But anyway, since most Harley buyers tend to be quite conservative, and it retains a cult-following even in export markets exactly because of its outdated look, an attempt to make them look hi-tech doesn't seem to be the right move.
