Support for the fair-lead is strong enough be I'll have them weld a couple of tabs just in case. "Better save than sorry" right.

Yeah but I'll have to sand down, and clean the weld, form the edges, then primer then stained and varnished .

Remember the bases to a good work is the prep work man.
