Government knew about Toyota troubles years ago?

Some on the forums report high 130s as top speed but I won't be finding out. I ran it up to 120 (according to GPS) on IH10 between Houston and San Antonio. The new boxes have the 2.4 Camry engine... not that poor little 1.5 liter beast that was in the old ones.

Funny thing is that it's supposed to have a governed 109 cutoff... but if you keep your foot on the floor it just delays at 109 for about 10 seconds and then continues. I guess Toyota thought the ten second delay would be good enough. Apparently they still have a lot to learn about accelerator pedals and software.

Make fun if you like.
Half the weight. Half the engine. Half the HP of a typical truck makes for a fun little ride. 0-60 time will outdo many V8 trucks and the handling is great!

Yeah... just poking at you.
Realistically the Scion is great around town. Nimble and quick to about 50 MPH. On the highway it's too little and noisy for my taste.
