So, I started my oil change at 9 am, after I figured out where to put the jack stands, I dont think I found the best spot for working, but it worked..and then the fun started, so got the cover off the oil drain area, then I attempted to remove the drain plug, and this is what happened,

and then I tryed again and this happened with a different socket!

So then I had to go to three stores to find a 13mm socket...so what should have been and 30-40 min job, was going to take 2-3 hours! So then after I get a socket, and get the plug out, the oil goes all over my hand, no problem, and then comes the challenge of getting the filer out, and then the oil really goes every where! The TBs are a huge pain in the arse to get the filter out with out spilling any oil any where! So I get it out, and clean the rest of the oil up, throw some oil in the filter, oil up the threads and get the filter snug, and then about a 1/2 turn more. So now I need to double check the amount oil that goes in my Trailblazer, it takes 7 qts, freaking hog! So I get that figured out, and then start pure in the oil, and get to the last qt it starts to rain, and I dont have time to get everything cleaned up, and buttoned up, so I clean up, and go inside for it to rain for 3 mins, but rain hard enough to soak the ground, so I have to wait 20-30 minutes for it dry. It dries I get the drain cover back on, fire it up and get oil pressure, and no drips yet so everything turned out to be good, but damn why does everything I do turn into a fiasco! Argh!

Murphy's law is an adage that broadly states: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong."
Did you use an impact or did you destroy that socket with your hands....?

You snapped a socket on a drain plug?!?! WOW! Thats crazy, that must have been so over torqued. Your lucky it didnt strip the threads out of the pan. Congratulations on getting it done though. Nothing like the satisfaction of doing a job yourself.

I've snapped plenty of sockets, but never on a drain plug. That's crazy how you snapped two on yours. Just WOW.
