Well it was barebones, no power windows, carpet, etc, and then I found it was wrecked, and sold to me as new truck in 03!

Carfax busted my dealer. :nono:

It was hit in the left rear, by a customer while sitting on the lot. (what a nemrod) $1,500 in repairs.

I also loved the look of The GMT900 CC's and I wanted more amenities.

With the ecomony and GM both in trouble, I got a killer deal on it, plus I had just changed jobs, and the new one was pissing off, and I needed a reason not to quit, so I obligated myself to another payment for 5 yrs.
So how did the dealer take it that you busted them? Good lookin GMT900!

Well having owned the Truck for 5 years, I went straight back to the original dealer, and showed them the CarFax, that had just been ran.

At first they said that, no way would they sell a wrecked truck as new, and they must have purchased it from another dealer. Then I pulled out the original window sticker, and it was delivered to them in Aug 03. I bought it in Nov 03

Long story short..they paid me $1,500. A lot of friends suggested I sue them for more, through consumer fraud, but I'm not greedy guy.

Good thing too, because, GM filing for bankruptcy, would have left me with nothing.

That particular dealership no longer exist, one of many GM shut down!

I lucked out! Good Karma:halo:

You did good and didn't screw anybody in the process. There's no way of knowing for sure who knew what after that time... but they owed you for not selling you the "new" truck you paid for. GM filing (or not filing) for bankruptcy would not have changed anythig. Your beef was with the dealer, who is an independent business selling GM products. Sounds like it ended well and they bit the dust!

I really liked the 03, but I was quite disappointed/PO'd that they sold me the truck after that much damage and not disclosing it to me.

I'd probably bought the truck anyways, but for a lot less than I paid, and thats what I explained to the "Vice President" of dealership in our numerous meetings.

I wasn't trying to retire from the ordeal, but in my research I found, others in similar situations being awarded 3 figures in punitive damages.

I guess they figured that they lucked out, just paying $1500. I'm OK with it too. I was actually saddened to see them shut down...its a Lexus dealership now.

BTW: I requested and received a Carfax report on the GMC, before I signed on the dotted line.

This is something strange, that happened this evening with my GMT900.

I'm in Bristol Tennessee visiting family for the holiday, the truck performed flawlessly on the 5 hr drive from Richmond Virginia.

Two hours after arrival, the wife an I left to buy grocery's for tomorrow, and when I started the truck,I saw that I had total gauge failure, speedometer, tack, fuel, oil pressure, abs, airbag, DiC, gear selector, and lSD, Water temp was working tho!
It was still lighted, and the compass and outside temp worked on the Rear View Mirror.

I was somewhat perplexed, as what could have caused this, not to mention quite pissed off!
We continued on, and did what we had to do, and when I came back to the truck, it started right up, and everything was working again without a problem.

Has anyone had an experience like this with their 900? If so WTF just happened?

Needed a reboot, if it keeps doing it take it in. In the age of modern computing and electronics it doesn't seem to uncommon for a random electronic glitch to happen once and then never occur again.

It isn't totally uncommon for the modern electronics to need a "reboot". Mine has never done it but I have heard of others having similar issues without and continued problems.
