my dads 1973 camper special 454. He has had it since 1975, its been a work truck its whole life. Used to be his racecar hauler.

He used to have a slide in camper for it too. I have seen pics of your old setup. Pretty similar.

He used to have a slide in camper for it too. I have seen pics of your old setup. Pretty similar.

Even though I haven't used it in years I still have the camper(at a buddy's yard),couldn't even give it away :lol: I'll bet with a little tlc it would still be useable.

My dad sold his dirt cheap, then we got a pull behind camper it was made in 1969. It was huge and F'in heavy. You could watch the gas gauge in the truck go down as it was towing. LOL. Now my parents have a ultra light camper.

''Back in the day'' travel trailers & slide in campers were built with little to moderate concern about how much they weighed.Of course they didn't have the weight saving materials or technics we have today.My old camper was very heavy and needed three extra leaves in each spring pack so it would ride level when loaded.My old '77 did an excellant job of hauling that camper around and a trailer with dirtbikes in it....but,like you said liked gas :lol: Good thing it had dual tanks,it needed both :lol:
