Nice! Great info. I hope I don't have to use it anytime soon though. :D

Alright, I moved all my info to the OP so things aren't all spread out for those searching for this topic. :tmc:

I got my truck back! :willy:

I'll try to re-iterate what my buddy told me about the alignment....
There's supposed to be an oval shaped bolt/nut that adjusts the alignment. From the factory, they punched out the hole just enough to get the factory alignment. They had to unbolt the lower control arms and swing them out of the way a little to oval out the hole (how it was intended to be).

Anyways, I've got a data sheet on how everything is set. I'll try to get that posted tonight or tomorrow.

One minor problem....My steering wheel isn't straight and there's still a little, like 1/4 as much as before, slop in the wheel. Could my steering shaft be worn? Thoughts?
(everything has been replaced, so its gotta be between the steering box and the steering wheel :dunno:)

It will always feel like slop in these trucks unless you convert it to rack and pinion.

Nice work matt but next time maybe a little more detail on what exactly you did. :jester:
Well, I forgot my pocket digital voice recorder to take notes with and my camera guy, well, he konked out for a nap really early since I made him wake up so early. :nonod:

That's what I figured. My S10 is rock solid though. :dunno:

Am I just gonna have to pull the steering wheel to get it straight?

Slop in the wheel on these is usually the rag joint. Replacing it with the improved model fixes it right up. As for the wheel not being straight... Try it on a flat and level parking lot. It's entirely possible that the road camber in your area is making it seem like it's "off" when it's not.

Good point. I'll try it tonight or tomorrow.

Where is the rag joint and how much?
