Nat Gas be hard on engines

We sold the shit out of 8.1s and 5.7s in generator applications. Detonation, cooked manifolds, and head gaskets destroyed them.

What do you think they did to their "specifically designed" 6.0l? Beefier head gaskets and stuff?:dunno:

Man, I am not sure. They may be just fine these days. I am sure that the ones I am speaking of were just "converted". The same engines in a gas application did just fine.

I would consider one, unless they are ridiculously more expensive. We have 4 CNG stations here now, and its far cheaper than gasoline. With all the natural gas wells in this area, CNG is actually getting more popular, and still fairly inexpensive. :dunno: Chesapeake Energy and several over gas drilling companies all have fleets of CNG vehicles. Everything from Silverados to F150's to Crown Vics all plastered with stickers saying "This vehicle runs on Natural Gas".

Yeah that is why I am skeptical as to what they have done to these engines because I have always heard that CNG was hard on converted gasoline engines.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
I've never seen a CNG station in the wild. :dunno:

And I want to be the first to point out the mileage loss compared to gasoline :jester:
I haven't either.

Nor have I, but they better be sellin' Doritos and beer there, or this stuff will never fly.

Though I did see a website that had a device you'd put in your garage, hook up to Nat gas and fill at home. THAT would be cool.

Besides the fact that the people who buy and use this pressurized and flammable fuel system can't be trusted to not stick their hands in a lawn mower. Can you imagine the warning stickers on a CNG machine  :willy:

You ethanol fokkers are behind the times.... :jester:

In OKiehoma, you can find 28 local gas stations in 24 cities that you can fill up your Natural Gas Vehicle with CNG Fuel.

In fact, OSU has converted all 18 of its transit buses to run on CNG. The university is converting its fleet cars to CNG and at the end of 2011, OSU has 90 fleet CNG vehicles.

The Oklahoma Legislature intends to increase the CNG fueling infrastructure in the state, with the overall goal of having one public fueling station located every 100 miles along the interstate highway system by 2015, and one public fueling station every 50 miles by 2025. IMHO, we won't have to wait that long...
