I'm just going to keep my truck I don't have to deal with all that new electronics that are being installed and that will break after a while. I wonder if GM will ever drop GMC or there Chev truck line?

Me too. That's why I wanted an older truck.
And no, I don't think GM will ever end their truck line (maybe one, but never both).

Any more info or pics on the device talked about?

sounds like an interesting idea...

why not make some sort of baffle at the firewall to direct air either downward or upward over the windshield? this would let air flow through the engine bay, and yet direct it in such a way that it doesn't drag quite as much.

That would only really work while above certain speeds, idle would not provide enough airflow...

E-fan. Works wonders. :jester:

I was reading last night that the new Chevy Cruze will have these things in their lower grille area... :dunno:

E-fans don't have the CFM and pull power to suck air that far at a good enough pace... yet.

They need to design something like an enclosed duct, that the radiator set's in, and then exhaust, like in the front wheel well's, that way, no air passes into the engine bay....:dunno:

That's a good idea, but that would take up way too much room with all the ducting. Plus, making air take a 90 deg. turn puts a lot of force / back pressure on it so it might be more turbulent.

I just want it to have a fail-safe so it defaults to Full Open so the engine doesn't cook.

I have to disagree about the e-fans.
My Caddy "ONLY" has e-fans.
The temp gauge "NEVER" moves from straight up..(normal)..

My truck has the engine driven fans...
It runs a good bit hotter (about 15 or 20 degrees)...idling along in slow traffic vs running down the road at freeway speeds...:(

Seems like the e-fans work a "LOT" better ...st least for me. :dunno:
