gm 4x4 front diff gear swap

first off i would like to say hello from missouri, and thanks for having me.
now my question.
i have a 1980 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 truck.
i blew the rear end up in it so i had to replace it.
i bought a matched front and rear ends.
i swapped the rear end in the truck but i dont want to swap the whole front end as its all new.
the rear is a different ratio than the front now.
what do i need to do to put the gears out of the front diff i purchased with the rear in my old front end.

i hope all that makes sense

any help would be great

The 80 has the solid front axle right?
