I had 265's and a 3.55 gear ratio. I put 285's and changing the gears to 4.10. So i want to know what is the best and strongest brand. Ill be getting them in 2 to 3 weeks

Ron's machining service is the place to get gears. See what he recommends.

Yukon's are solid. I have a friend running Yukon 4.88's in his daily driver F150 (6" lift on 35's) and he loves them. He has had them in for over a year with no issues or noise. I just had some USA Standard gears (4.56) put in my truck last week and love them so far. The owner of the shop that installed them (Barry @ The Rear End Shops in Livermore, CA) said I will likely get some gear whine with them but I haven't noticed any at all. From everything I have read USA Standard is an "unfinished" Yukon gear. They have the same warranty and same installation booklet. I have read that they just lack the final process the Yukon gears are given. Not sure how much of that is fact, but that is the word on the net. I paid $268 for the Yukon master install kit and USA Standard 4.56 ring and pinion shipped. $400 for install, fluid and axle bearings/seals.

I am currently running tires that are only .4" larger than stock (stock 31.6 my tires are 32) so my mileage at highway speeds suck, but driving around town (what I do 95% of the time) is a lot easier on my transmission. I haven't noticed any drop in city MPG's yet, but they have only been done for a week.

With 3.55 gears I would sit at 2000 RPM @ 75 MPH, with the 4.56's I am at around 2800 RPMs @ 75.

I ordered my parts through Completeoffroad.com.

I am very satisfied so far, but I have had the thought of "Oh no, did I go with too short of a gear?" on my drive home and on my trip to the bay area over the weekend.

I've got Yukon 4.88s front and year. No complaints whatsoever in the past 2 years or so that I've had them. They are a little pricey but are definitely a good product.
