22mpg

00 Ranger 2.5L auto, 4.10 gears 109,000 miles on the clock. Totally stock.

Average commute is 20-50 miles each way. Lots of hills and I spend 90+% of the time at 55-75mph.

I haven't tried non-ethanol fuel in this truck yet because it's very hard to find around here. I know in my 2.3L buick I was getting 2-3 more mpg on straight gas.

I'm going to get an Efan as soon as I can, it should free up some mpg since I won't have that heavy piece of garbage hangin off the front of my pathetic little motor.

I went from about 18 average to about 16.2 when I want to 20 inch wheels. Lost a bit but it sure was worth it for the looks.

Why did the size of the rims change your mileage so much?
Isn't the diameter of the tire the same?

My average after driving it for 1 year: 14.75mpg (I keep track)
High: 19.5mpg (pure interstate with no load @ 65)
Low: 9.5mpg (towing big enclosed trailer @ 65+)
All of this was obviously before my BlackBear tune.

It may be the same diameter but it is wider, which is a bigger contact patch to create more friction, but more importantly he added more weight and that weight is more crucial than say 50lbs in your bed.
