One tank on the recent trip in the Silvy...

I don't trust my fuel gauge. I usually always fill up when I get just about an 1/8 of a tank and it takes any where from 26 to 28 gallons to fill it up. It has a 36 gal fuel tank. I've put over 400 miles on a tank a few times, but it'll only take what I mentioned earlier to fill it up. The low fuel warning light has never came on, so I don't kmow how low the fuel gauge will get before that happens.

That fill up was only 22 gallons. Around town (I know where all the gas stations are ), I'll usually push it to 25 or so. I think it's a 27 gallon tank. :dunno:

The "real" mileage on that tank was 23.4. So, the trip computer wasn't TOO far off (that time).

Over 500 miles on a tank, though, I was starting to not trust the gas gauge!

Typically, when the low fuel light comes on when I'm local, I start looking for a place to get gas. It snuck up on me this morning.

I put 452 miles on the last tank with a lot of highway driving. Speed ranged from 60 to 75 mph. It took 29 gallons to fill it up. That's an average of about 15.6 mpg. I'll take it.

Mine continues to get 18.5 (on the dash) in mixed driving, back and forth to work.

I have a 22 mile commute, 14 miles of it is straight through the old part of town, neighborhoods
