Damn, this last tank netted me the best mpg I think I've ever had in a truck. I put 408 miles on it and it only took 26 gallons to fill it up. That comes out to about 15.7mpg. I have to admit that it was mostly highway driving and doing 60 to 75 mpg with a couple of construction zones slowing down the pace.
I've been averaging a little over 14 miles a gallon since they've gone back to summer fuel. I usually only get 11/12 mpg in the winter, but I'm sure that's due to the truck idling more than it is the winter mix.
If I baby the truck, I can squeeze 15 MPG US around town, and to and from work... But I'm averaging about 11.5 - 12 MPG... 10MPG on the really heavy foot days, lol.
It varies between 17 and 22 MPG on the highway. My last road trip not hauling or towing, I got 750 miles to 35 gallons out of 36.
I can get 22 @ 55
I average 14 around town
I get 18 @ 70 and it just gets worse from there
We went fully loaded on Memorial Day, into the wind, dragging the trailer @ 70 and I averaged 10 on that trip
I can definitely tell we're back on the winter mix. I blame that and not idle time as it has not been cold enough yet that warrants letting the engine warm up a bit.
