TX, where else should I be?
I've been hitting some mileage records now that I drive 50 miles a day for work. 18 is my common mileage with 19.6 being my record.

Just by controlling my foot, I've gone from 11-12 mpg to a tad over 15 mpg. :D

Last fill up was 16.1 mpg of mostly city commute to work. I took it on a trip to Leasburg Dam State Park over the weekend and was planning to fill it up and see what kind of mileage it got since it was mostly highway. However my father borrowed the truck and put some fuel in it but did not fill it up...oh well.

I am super happy though with 14+ city and 16+ Highway because it was averaging about 7 mpg for a while.

The truck kept giving me a CEL and the codes stated EGR valve and sensors well I replaced them and nothing changed. I googled the code and it seems these 1997 trucks were notorious for clogging the throttle body assembly with carbon and other gunk.

Took it off and sure enough it was clogged really bad. Used a generous amount of brake cleaner and pipe cleaning brushes to get into all the small holes and crevices. Put it back on the truck cleared the codes.

No more CEL truck idles and runs completely different and the mileage has been creeping up back to where they should be around 15 mpg average.

Here is the fuelly link if any of you are interested.
