From my "new dog carrier" thread, I thought I would quote and reply to this.

Sweet!

Someone who might actually mod their truck; awesome! :)

Speaking of..........

I'm starting to look ahead to this summer's "adventures" and I'm thinking about bringing the front up a little (and probably removing the chin spoiler, as I'm tired of it either catching on stuff or getting grass & "stuff" caught in it..).

Does anyone have any suggestions for a front lift? I'm planning to bring it more or less level with the back and I want to have minimal impact to ride quality, as this is pretty much my daily driver and the roads SUCK around here, with all the construction & crap going on.

I may also look at some wheels. Maybe black wheels :)devil:), but that can be a separate thread, if I get that far before the money runs out.

Is this still your suggestion, Karl, or did you get a chance to give them a try?

Bilstein finally came out with their 5100 leveling shocks for the K2xx platform a couple months ago. took them long enough!

I have not done any of the new stuff since the 07 half ton, so I am not sure what the latest is, but I was happy with the Bilstein setup.

Is the new suspension samey-same?

Thanks! I've seen a lot of people suggestion Bilsteins, so I'm leaning in that direction for now.

The overall ride quality on my '15 Silverado seems better than it was in my '07 Sierra, but I haven't investigated what has changed. :dunno:

I haven't done them yet, but the 5100s are still the way I will go for a level.

As far as suspension differences, The 5100s for the GMT900 will allegedly physically fit the K2xx, so there can't be that much truly different in the suspension, but the new ones are a different valving, so I felt the wait for the new parts was worth it. Unfortunately during that same wait, I stopped driving my truck every day, so my urgency to improve the ride dropped dramatically. :)

That's understandable. I plan to go back to CO this summer and hit some back roads or go to MT this summer and hit some back roads up there. Either way, I'd like to get it a bit more "level" AND I want some better rubber on the ground, which will likely involve new tires AND wheels. But, that's a thread for another time. I want to get 'er more level first.

Just lower the rear, this seems to be a new trend... OR at least around here.
