I hate the look of my overload spring hanging under the truck, just looks like crap to me. I have been thinking about pulling it out and doing away with it.

Any of you guys have any specific reason of not to pull it. This is an all stock truck that hauls my ass only. Power will not be added to it so I don't feel like axle wrap will be an issue.

Opinions please.:dunno:

Sorry but I don't have a pic of it right now.

I don't think the overload spring serves any purpose if you don't load the spring pack enough to make it contact the other springs. I'd pull it.

I'm guessing the overload spring doesn't do anything other than give you a slight lift (the thickness of the leaf itself), and if you remove it, the truck won't sit as low either (since the leaf would then be on the bottom)....at least if my thinking is right.

It won't do anything to the ride height with the axle on top.

Yeah like Kyle says, I have a flip kit. Axle is on top of the spring pack. Removing the overload spring, which is now on the bottom will do nothing more than change my carrying capacity. It won't effect ride height at all. Not sure if you can make it out in this pic but the lowest leaf is what I would remove.
