He's in Canada. DRL has been the norm there for some time longer than here.

It might be because the high beams are the DRL's on the 400s, usually... :dunno:

But I think they should still flash, if you pull the stick all the way and lock the highbeams on, at the very least...

The low beams are the DRL's.

My dads '93 Suburban had highbeam DRL's

And yes, we've had DRL's since 1990

Maybe from '90 to '94 trucks in Canada had high beam DRL's and '95+ trucks had low beam DRL's? I know in the US GMT400's got DRL's in '95 or '96.

I think it depended on trim level :dunno:

I know in the S-Series, the ZR2's got low beam DRL's and all the others got low beam DRL's

I don't know about the high beams. I haven't been around a 400 since 02. I'm pretty sure it was 96 when the 400s went to DRLs. My parents had a 95 suburban and it didn't have them. I think the S series got them when they were redesigned for 94 or 95. The 400s were given lots of little updates over the ears. Updated headlights in 92, new grille in 94, new interior in 95, DRLs and new top end on the engine in 96, passenger airbag in 97. Didn't have specific refreshes like most vehicles today.

Well on my '96, the DRL's are slightly dimmer than the low beams, but it is a real PITA not being able to flash, Any ideas on how to make it work?
