First tow with the Durango

I am impressed. I had hopes, but a lot of nerves that thing would perform like I wanted it to. It did better than I would have ever expected. I towed my Nova and a couple hundred pounds of other stuff to my parents in Oklahoma today. We had about a 20mph cross/head wind. Never did I have any pucker moments. A few different times I pushed it hard than I really should just to get a feel. Extremely stable. Is it a 2500 duramax? Hardly. Under most (not all) circumstances, I would choose this over towing with my Silverado though.

SUVs seem to tow better than their pickup equivalents... My parents old Suburban was a better tow vehicle than my old half-ton was.... Not sure if it's the extra weight or the stability from the better aerodynamics.

My wife used to hate to ride with me in my truck while towing (obnoxious exhaust and 4 speed and bounce). We got to my parents and she without prompting told me how nice that was. And asked my if I was happy with it.

Color me impressed.
